How to get

Izhevsk is situated in the western part of the Middle Urals – 1,129 km eastwards from Moscow. The most commonly used ways to get to Izhevsk are air and railway transport.

Most international flights arrive in three main Moscow airports – SheremetyevoDomodedovo and Vnukovo. From Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo you can take a connecting flight to Izhevsk. You can also fly to Kazan 300 km away from Izhevsk and take a train.

Another option is to go by train. The trains to Izhevsk leave either from Kazansky or Kursky railway stations in Moscow, located near the subway stations «Komsomolskaya» and «Kurskaya», respectively. In this case, you should use aeroexpress + subway. The train tickets can be bought online on the webpage of Russian Railways.
