Department of Technology of Industrial and Artistic Material Working was established in 2000. Specifics of the Department – students obtain engineering and humanitarian knowledge. Graduates – process engineers, design engineers, specialists in advertising are, first of all, artistic persons, inventors with aesthetic taste.

The main aim of the Department – to train first-class specialists with knowledge in production, which is achieved thanks to highly skilled teaching staff. Engineering scientists, artists and designers well-known in the Udmurts Republic and Russia are involved in the educational process. Students are taught such artistic courses as composition, drawing, chromatology, history of art, script design, graphic design and computer-aided design. The Department is actively and fruitfully cooperating with various companies and institutions of the Republic.

Many students take an active part in exhibitions and research activities participating in contests and winning high places in Russian student contests.

Research Areas:

• Improvement of design of wooden items based on CAD/CAM technologies
• Development of scientific foundations of shape and facture formation in design objects
• Improvement of aesthetic-communicative properties of souvenirs and their production technology
• Development of style theory

Department of Architecture was established in 1995. The Department trains specialists in the field of architectural-engineering design of buildings. Among graduates of the Department there are members of Union of Architects of Russia with their own architectural-engineering work-rooms.

• Architectural-planning features of historical areas of cities in the Udmurt Republic

Department of Industrial and Civil Engineering was established in 1976 after the division of Department of Industrial and Agricultural Construction. With time the fast development of constructional industry in the Udmurt Republic required specialists-technologists to work at house-building factories and precast yards. In 1987 the Department started training engineers in production of assembly items and structures, at the same time, the research activities in environmental protection and resource-saving technologies were intensified.

Research Areas:

• Modification of mineral binding matrixes by carbon nanosystems
• Application of fine systems to improve physical and chemical properties of constructional compositions based on calcium sulfate
• Utilization of technogenic raw material resources to develop constructional materials
• Development of silicate paint and varnish materials with screening effect for finishing building facades
• Improvement of efficiency of natural beds and foundations

Department of Industrial and Civil Engineering was established in 1972. Graduates work in the field of organization and management of construction of industrial and civil facilities, research and design of buildings and structures, evaluation and management of real estate objects.

• Theory and practice of organizational-technological and economic decisions.
• Automated systems for calculating constructional structures, numerical methods for calculating plates and shells.
• Sector economics, strategic planning and system analysis.
