Transport
Izhevsk is situated in the western part of the Middle Urals – 1,129 km eastwards from Moscow. The most commonly used ways to get to Izhevsk are railway and air transport.
Most international flights arrive in two main Moscow airports – Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo. The best way to get from the airport to Kazansky or Kursky railway stations (where the train to Izhevsk or Agryz can be taken) or between the two airports – aeroexpress + subway. Taxes are rather expensive and traffic jams can cause the delay.
You can take a direct return flight from Domodedovo airport to Izhevsk by Izhavia air company.
There is a daily train Moscow-Izhevsk-Moscow. Besides, you may take a ticket from Moscow to Agryz and back. Agryz is a railway station 40 km away from Izhevsk. All these trains leave from Kazansky or Kursky railway stations in Moscow, located near the subway stations “Komsomolskaya” and “Kurskaya”, respectively.
