The department trains weapon designers. Over the years of its existence the department trained about 2,500 specialists, and the names of its graduates, first-class weapon designers, are well known both in our country and abroad: G.N. Nikonov, V.A. Yarygin, A.I. Nesterov, B.M. Zorin, I.E. Deryushev, V.M. Kalashnikov, B.D. Stronsky, M.E. Dragunov and others.
