English Department (former Department of Foreign Languages) was established in 1952.

The Department provides training in basic and professional English to students of all levels. It carries out organizational-methodological, research, information-analytical and expert-counseling tasks in the field of language training and efficient use of the English language for professional intercultural interaction with foreign partners.

Mission of the Department – development of culture and education of future specialists, formation of their academic and professional mobility in the conditions of integration in unified European educational area, improvement of the level of their professional competence based on foreign language education in the sphere of professional communication, as well as further promotion and approval of profile departments in international professional communities.

Research and Methodological Areas:

• Challenges in English language teaching at non-language universities
• Formation of foreign language communicative competence of a specialist with the help of modern pedagogic technologies
