The department (former Department of Finance and Credit) was established in 1995 following the need in training highly skilled specialists in the sphere of financial management in new conditions of market economy.    

Afterwards due to increased importance of financial and banking institutions, increased role of monetary tools, the demand for specialists-economists in finance, improvement of the level of financial knowledge of specialists in all fields appeared.
