Kalashnikov ISTU in NEERC ranking: 12 place

The season 2014/2015 of sport programming ACMICPC has finished. As tradition demands, in accordance with team's results, ranking of higher educational institutions was formed. The ranking represented North East European region, to which Kalashnikov ISTU belongs.

As always the scoring system was used, which was proposed in 1999 by the Dean of Ural State University, the organizer of programming competitions in Ural State University, Professor Magas Oraskimovich Asanov. In the published ranking Kalashnikov ISTU took the 12^th position among 157 universities. Higher places were taken by the universities with the best results – ITMO University and Lomonosov Moscow State University.

The finals of the World championship ACM ICPC took place in Marrakech (Morocco) on May 20, 2015. The World and European champions became the team of Artem Vasiliev, Gennady Korotkevich and Boris Minaev (ITMO University) who solved all 13 tasks. That is the first time in history of the championships, usually some of the tasks are unsolved. The second place and gold medals took the team of Gleb Evstropov, Viktor Omelyanenko and Mikhail Pyaderkin (Lomonosov Moscow State University). Therefore, Russian teams second year in a row got high positions and Gennady Korotkevich became two-time world champion.
