Kalashnikov ISTU is hosting students from Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences
On 27 August a two-week internship of students from Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences started at Institute of Power Engineering and Housing & Utility Infrastructure (former Faculty of Heat Engineering). The leader of the delegation of thirteen people is the Head of Department of Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences Prof. Artur Mennerich (who has already visited us for the 3rd time), and research assistant – Anja Blidon.
– I am very glad to see you at our University! – Prof. Valery Grakhov, Rector of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University, warmly greeted the guests from Germany. – In fact, it is very important to develop relations with our partner university, so that mutual influence will only improve the environment.
Let’s recall that in September 2011 Kalashnikov ISTU and Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences signed the agreement on binational program of training students, which provides for a diploma of both educational institutions, Russian and German.
The binational program allows to train highly qualified universal specialists who can work in Russian-speaking and German-speaking countries. It should be noted that 22 students of the Faculty of Heat Engineering have already become bearers of double diplomas, four of them have received the diplomas at this meeting. These are Anton Babushkin, Kristina Gabitova, Andrey Yuferev and Ksenia Yakovleva. Handing the diplomas, Prof. Artur Mennerich noted that «…thanks to their perseverance and efforts these guys have achieved good, and even excellent results, ISTU can be proud of them».
It is worth saying that German students will have a rich program, including lectures, excursions, workshops, and in their free time – acquaintance with the sights of Izhevsk and Udmurtia and rest in Students’ educational and sportive center in Galevo.
After the meeting with the rector the guests attended the lecture «Fundamentals of water supply and sanitation in Russia». On August 28, they had an excursion to the TPP, on the same day – the lecture «Water supply: water distribution systems, water treatment technologies, requirements for the quality of drinking water». On August 29 – excursion to Votkinsk water treatment plant. An excursion to water treatment plant in Sarapul is also scheduled. They will be shown the regional boiler house and heating networks. The German students will learn about the pumping station in the water supply and sanitation systems and much more.
And on September 6 they will be awarded with certificates and diplomas.
