The work is recommended for defense

The successful graduate of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University Ekaterina Karpova is already a 4-year PhD student of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania). Her thesis prepared for defense for seeking the scientific degree of candidate of sciences is practically ready. The topic – «Influence of carbon nanotubes onto the structure of cement-based materials» – is a perspective area and the defense is expected quite soon.

On February 19 the proposal defense of her thesis took place at the Department of Constructional Materials, Mechanization and Geo-Engineering. The proposal defense is kind of training before the actual defense and demonstrates the readiness of a PhD student to finalize the research results. Among the participants were young scientists of the department and reputable professors. Among the colleagues was Ekaterina’s research supervisor Prof. Gintautas Skripkiūnas from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University.

On the results of the proposal defense Prof. Grigory Yakovlev, Head of the Department, recommended the work for defense.

The defense will take place at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University already in English. Ekaterina said that she is happy to have obtained the experience in studying abroad, at the same time, she has constantly felt the bond with her Alma Mater and she really appreciates its support and help.
