Admission

Foreign nationals and stateless persons to be admitted to bachelor and engineer programs are enrolled following the results of entrance examinations in general subjects relevant to the program selected.

Foreign nationals and stateless persons with valid results of Unified State Examination (USE) have an option either to take entrance examinations arranged by Kalashnikov ISTU or submit USE results as the results of entrance examinations.

Foreign nationals and stateless persons not having valid USE results take entrance examinations arranged by Kalashnikov ISTU.

Entrance examinations for foreign nationals and stateless persons to be admitted to budget studies are conducted according to the schedule prepared by Admission Commission of Kalashnikov ISTU.

Entrance examinations for foreign nationals and stateless persons to be admitted on a commercial basis are conducted according to the schedule prepared by Department of International Education and Cooperation of Kalashnikov ISTU based on the applications submitted.

Foreign nationals and stateless persons to be admitted based on referrals issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation are enrolled to Kalashnikov ISTU without entrance examinations.

Recreation and accommodation

The university campus is located in picturesque outskirts of Izhvesk near the park and forestry area. It comprises 7 educational buildings, 6 students’ hostels, palace of culture “Integral”, health center, polyclinic, stadium, swimming pool, etc. The students live in comfortable hostels with cooking and laundry facilities, where they can work in computer rooms, as well as relax after studies. They have their meals in the hostels, and canteens and snack bars on campus.

There are vast opportunities to improve health, as well as to go in for sports. Health services for students and employees are provided by the university polyclinic and health center. There is also a sports center for 100 persons located in the pine forest outside Izhevsk on the bank of the river Kama with 16 summer houses and 1 winter house. It also has a canteen providing 3 meals a day, sport grounds for football, volleyball, basketball and badminton, as well as a sauna.

Kalashnikov ISTU has all the necessary sporting facilities for students and employees: sport halls, tennis court, stadium, ski center, gyms, aerobics halls, a brand new swimming pool and sauna. Sport days and various competitions form an integral part of students’ life.

There is also a Palace of Culture “Integral” for entertainment. It houses the well-known university municipal theatre “Young Man” – the winner of many competitions and festivals, rock-club “Integral”, jazz band, vocal studio “Rec.time”. It hosts many students’ amusement festivities as well, such as intellectual and entertaining games Balda, multiple faculty parties and discos. In estate-museum of Peter Tchaikovsky in Votkinsk a cultural and educational center of Kalashnikov ISTU has been founded.

Invitaton

To get a Russian visa, a foreign national or stateless person has to receive an invitation from the university. To issue the invitation, the Department of International Education and Cooperation needs the following documents/information about the person: 

  1. Scanned copies of the first passport page and the page with dates of passport issue/expiry valid for at least 1.5 years from the date of entering the Russian Federation (please, send the copies as an attachment to an e-mail message).

  2. Name of the institution/company with the address where the person is employed (if applicable).

  3. Position in the institution/company (if applicable).

  4. Home address.

  5. Period of visa validity (planned period of stay in Russia).

  6. City to apply for the visa (city where the Russian Consulate is available).

  7. Postal address where the original of invitation should be posted to (please, indicate the zip code and contact telephone number).

These data should be e-mailed to the contact person at the Department of International Education and Cooperation.

Documents

Applicants are expected to submit the following documents electronically (in English or Russian) prior to their arrival:

  1. The completed application form.
  2. Motivation letter explaining in a free form the reasons for studying Russian and future educational plans.
  3. Copy of international passport valid for at least 1.5 years from the date of entering the Russian Federation.
  4. Copies of all educational documents, including the certificate of completed secondary education with a list of courses taken and grades.

Upon their arrival to the university, foreign nationals and stateless persons are required to submit the following documents:

  1. Original of the main educational document (certificate, diploma, etc. – depending on the country).
  2. Original of the supplement to the main educational document (if it is a separate document).
  3. Notarized translation of the main educational document and supplement to it into Russian (if the documents or at least one stamp on them are not in Russian).
  4. Passport original and passport copy.
  5. Copy and duly certified translation into Russian of passport of the educational document owner (if the document is not in Russian), if a foreign applicant needs to go through the document nostrification procedure.
  6. Copy of the visa to the Russian Federation, if the foreign national entered the Russian Federation with the visa.
  7. Migration card issued when entering the Russian Federation.
  8. Medical insurance valid on the territory of the Russian Federation for nationals of visa-free countries. For nationals entering the Russian Federation with the visa – medical insurance covering 100,000 rubles – to be bought after the arrival.
  9. 6 matte photos (3 x 4 cm).
  10. Referral issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for foreign nationals and stateless persons to be enrolled on its basis.

Tuition fee

The tuition fees for individual bachelor, master and PhD programs are given in the section «Study Programs».
