The institute conducts education in 14 specialties of secondary professional education.

  • Training in the most demanded specialties of secondary professional education following up the main general (9 grades) and secondary general (11 grades) education.
  • Programs of professional retraining of unemployed, training and upgrading for workers and
  • Preparatory courses for school children and graduates of lyceums, secondary technical schools and secondary colleges.

Institute of International Study Programs

The Institute of International Study programs was established on September 01, 2018 based on the Department of International Education and Cooperation, Institute of Professional Translation, English Language Department, Department of Linguistics, Department of Scientific-Technical Translation and Intercultural Communication.
The institute provides study programs for Russian and international students in the following areas:

  • training of foreign nationals and stateless persons for mastering professional study programs in the Russian language;
  • education of Russian and international students in bachelor programs, partly provided in the English language;
  • education of Russian and international students in bachelor programs in “Linguistics” and “Fundamental and Applied Linguistics”;
  • training of all university students in languages (“Foreign Language”, “Russian Language and Speech Standard”);
  • re-training of university students and academic staff in the program “Translator in the Sphere of Professional Communication”;
  • joint education of university students and academic staff in the Czech language together with South Moravian Center for International Mobility.
The institute cooperates with all university faculties and institutes in developing and implementing double degree study programs, programs of academic mobility and internships for students and academic staff.

The faculty was founded on February 12, 2011 on the basis of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Department of Physics and Optical Engineering, and Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. In August 2018 the following departments were added to the faculty: Engineering Graphics and Advertising Technology, History of Russian Statesmanship, Professional Pedagogics, Physical Training and Sport Technologies, Philosophy and Sociology.

Initially the faculty was established to fulfill the following tasks:

  • to unite scientists ready to implement modern complex fundamental projects in the field of mathematics and natural sciences;
  • to provide high-quality fundamental training of bachelors, masters and engineers together with institutes of Ural Division of Russian Academy of Sciences, branch institutes and enterprises of the Russian Federation;
  • to optimize the university structure eliminating the duplication of study areas;
  • to provide the unified educational policy when teaching students the courses in mathematics and natural sciences;

Today Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences is the fundamental faculty teaching students of the whole university basic, general disciplines, and also trains highly skilled specialists in the field of humanities, mathematics and natural sciences.

The faculty has been steadily growing, thus within last 5 years the number of students has increased in 4 times and currently exceeds 1,000 (including those obtaining secondary professional education). Every year the students participate in institutional, regional, Russian and international contests, festivals and exhibitions winning various diplomas and awards.

The faculty comprises the studios for drawing, painting, chromatics and composition, design and graphics, advertising; 3 computer rooms; wood processing and machining shops; wood engraving and painting shops; shop for metal artistic working.

bryzgalov-ju-bDean Yury Bryzgalov, Prof., DScFor over 60 years the faculty has been training specialists for enterprises of our country. During the years of its existence the faculty has trained over 9,000 engineers, among them are famous scientists, designers, directors of enterprises. Many of them spent themselves for the service in the army, MIA, police and governmental bodies. Initially established as purely “defense”, in the recent decade and a half the faculty extended the range of its specialties and specializations taking into account the needs of the regional companies. The competitiveness of our graduates has been time proved and is defined by Russian traditions of training specialists for enterprises of defense profile.
