Department of Sport Management was established in 2001 after the reorganization of Department of Physical Training. The Department completes topical tasks of training human resources in management of physical training and sport in the framework of Strategy of Development of Physical Training and Sport in Russia till 2020. Specialists of managerial bodies of physical training and sport of Izhevsk and Udmurt Republic, managers of sport facilities and organizations are involved in the educational process. Graduates of the Department work in bodies of state and local administration, in commercial and public sport organizations.

Research and Methodological Areas:

• Improvement of the system of health and fitness, mass and sportive work in physical training and sport in the system of local administration

• Improvement of the management efficiency of sport facilities and sport organizations

• Improvement of the forms and methods of organizing physical culture among students

Department of Sociology, Psychology and Culture Studies was established in 2014 after the merger of Department of Psychology, Department of Political Studies, Sociology and Law and Department of Philosophy of Law and Social Anthropology.

Department of Scientific-Technical Translation and Intercultural Communication (former Department of German and French Languages) was established in 2011.

The main activities of the Department are the issues of high-quality scientific-technical translation and intercultural communication for the program «Translation and translation studies» (qualification «Linguist, translator»), as well teaching students of the university German and French.

The Department develops cooperation with German universities. The closest contacts are with Technische Universität Braunschweig. Every year students of Kalashnikov ISTU take part in summer language courses and receive confirmation certificates of their knowledge of German language, recognized in Europe.

Department of Economics and Management was established in 1956. At that time it was Department of Economy in Industry and Production Management. 

Objective

The main objective – meeting the demand of the region for training modern economists and managers possessing knowledge and skills of their efficient application in the process of formation and implementation of strategies of company management, as well as training of engineering students in economics.

Department of Company Economy was established in 2003 as a result of division of Department of Management. During this period the Department has trained over 1000 skilled specialists. Today the graduates work at all major enterprises of the Udmurt Republic, in banks, in the system of state and municipal administration of the Republic and outside it.

Department of Civil Law and Legal Regulation of Economic Relations in Industry (former Department of Law) was established in 2006 to train specialists dealing with legal events and actions, legal relations in the sphere of functioning of state institutions, legal relations between state bodies, physical and legal entities.

• Criminal process – issues of jurisdiction of criminal cases on adductions investigated by inquiry bodies.
