A new partner
Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University continues to extend collaboration in Europe. This time – in Germany.
On May 13, 2013 the delegation of our university – Alexander Elensky, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Accreditation and Andrei Nedobukh, Head of the Department of Scientific-Technical Translation and Intercultural Communication visited Aalen University (Hochschule Aalen für Technik und Wirtschaft – HTW Aalen). Being currently the strongest university of applied sciences in Baden-Württemberg in regard to research, HTW Aalen is built on two strong pillars: technology and business. Targeted at practice, the university trains highly skilled specialists at 5 faculties:
- Chemistry
- Electronics and Computer Science
- Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science
- Optics and Mechatronics
- Management and Business Sciences
in 48 programs of bachelor and master studies.
HTW Aalen is Alma Mater of unique specialists, as certain fields of study are offered which are found only rarely within Germany or even only in Aalen: optoelectronics / laser technology, plastics engineering, surface and materials technologies, as well as optometry and audiology, and information security.
Thus, HTW Aalen is an attractive partner for many higher educational institutions in Europe wishing to work in progressive fields of modern science. Kalashnikov ISTU is not an exception.
After official meetings, negotiations and visits to companies, the agreement of cooperation in the field of education, research and academic mobility between the two universities was prepared and will be signed on May 18 in the framework of the visit of Gerhard Schneider, Rector of HTW Aalen to Kalashnikov ISTU. The parties agreed not only about training specialists, but also joint researches, arrangement of conferences and workshops, and academic mobility programs. The agreement for double degree is currently being discussed.
We hope this perspective cooperation will bring partner universities to new achievements and discoveries.
