Universology: Definitions, Issues and Concepts

On June 27, 2013, the First Conference "Universology: Definitions, Issues and Concepts" was held at the Institute of Professional Translation of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University (Kalashnikov ISTU).

All presentations of scientific research were made and delivered in the English language.
The "students" - a group professors and lecturers of Kalashnikov ISTU - had been attending a course of Professional English for 2 semesters following the curriculum approved by the Department of International Education and Cooperation of Kalashnikov ISTU in collaboration with the Faculty of Enhancement of Teachers' Qualification.

The curriculum is aimed at improving the phonetics (quality of produced sounds), diction
(clarity and crispness of speech), auding capability (understanding a foreign speech), reading and writing in professional English.
