Russian Engineer – a Graduate of Slovak University
Alexander Mokrushin, a MSc of Kalashnikov ISTU has become the first graduate of the master program at Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín (Slovak Republic).
Denis Arsentyev, the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Slovak Republic participated in the graduation ceremony. He congratulated the university in the person of its Rector doc. Ing. Jozef Habánik with this event and expressed the confidence in further successful development of international cooperation between Russian and Slovak universities.
It is to be recalled that Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín is a young university, it is only 17 years old having been a partner of Kalashnikov ISTU for 15 years. Our universities have been actively cooperating in student and faculty mobility programs, double degree programs in some areas, as well as joint research works. Prof. Ivan Abramov, the Rector of ISTU in 1989-2007, Prof. Boris Yakimovich, the Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU since 2007, as well as Prof. Ali Aliev, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences have been conferred the title Doсtor Honoris Causa of Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín.
Three years ago Alexander Mokrushin, a bachelor graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Kalashnikov ISTU was accepted for master studies and went for a month internship to Slovakia together with two other master students – Artur Salimgareev and Petr Kurguzkin. There he had the discussions about possible master studies at the Faculty of Special Technology of Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín and Kalashnikov ISTU to get the double degree.
Now two years of hard work in the master school are over – frequent visits to Slovakia, mastering the Slovak language, lectures and consultations, exams, work on the master thesis “Investigation of the solid phase dispersity of combustions products of heat engines” with two scientific supervisors: Lukaš Bridík in Trenčín and Alexander Vakhrushev in Izhevsk. It should be pointed out that the thesis is targeted at applying nanotechnologies in automobile filters, and the French car manufacturer PSA Peugeot has already expressed its interest in this technology.
