Summer school for Egyptian students
Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University is hosting students from our partner university in Badr City – Egyptian-Russian University. At the moment, 6 students in mechatronics and 2 students in civil engineering are taking courses at Kalashnikov ISTU. During the summer semester (or a so-called “summer school”) the Egyptian students will attend 2 courses in English during 6 weeks and take the exams afterwards.
Moreover, other 6 students will come to us in the beginning of August to take the course “Cisco – CCNA Discovery”.
It is to be recalled that the cooperation of Kalashnikov ISTU with Egyptian universities started over 10 years ago (10th of Ramadan University, Helwan University). Every year, 40-50 students from those schools had internship at our university and enterprises of Izhevsk.
Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University assisted Dr. Sherif Helmy Soliman, the President of Egyptian-Russian University (ERU), in preparing curricula and work programs during the establishment of ERU which was founded in 2006.
In the autumn semester of the academic year 2009/2010 Kalashnikov ISTU accepted for semester studies 26 students of ERU in telecommunications and mechatronics. It was for the first time when the teachers of our university conducted the study process in English. After the successful launch, the project has been continuing till the present time. In spring semester of the academic year 2012/2013, Kalashnikov ISTU hosted 24 students from Egypt in mechatronics, civil engineering and telecommunications.
Besides, Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University and Egyptian-Russian University are currently working on a double degree program. The graduates of such program will be issued diplomas of both universities.
