Kalashnikov ISTU holded an International Conference on education
Solemn “Gaudeamus” openedthe Sixth International Conference: “Technical Universities: Integration with European and World Education Systems”, which started its work on April 22, 2014 in Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Techical University in the frameworks of the Forum “Education Quality” (EQ-2014).
Representatives, students and graduates from universities of different countries gathered in the palace of culture “Integral”. Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, China, Croatia, Egypt, Syria, Belarus, Slovakia, Scotland, Uzbekistan, Russia – the great variaty of flags! Common problem combined all of them: how to integrate into the world educational community under conditions of Bologna Declaration and how to make a higher education in a country and a university more competitive.
After ceremonial greetings of officials at the plenary session the reports on the problems and prospects of the higher education were discussed. Xu Diango, the deputy of ATURC, the representative of Harbin Institute of Technology (China), told about the experience of cooperation between Russia and China in the framework of Association of technical unviersities of Russia and China (ATURC), development of a new model of a training the talanted young people and the exchanges of young people.
Boris Yakimovich, rector of Kalashnikov ISTU, reported about the place of technical universities in the system of international and Russian rankings, discussed about adnvantages and disadvantages of different systems of rankings.
Karel Rais, professor, Doctor Honoris Causa of Brno University of Technology, Doctor Honoris Causa of Kalashnikov ISTU, shared his experience of providing and evaluating the quality of Czech universities system on the example of University of Technology, participating in the project “National quality assurance system, internal and external complex quality assessment of the all types of the higher education institutions of the Czech Republic”.
Detailed and deep expert research, based on the experience of the higher education institutons of Croatia, was given by the vice-rector for mobility and projects of the University of Zadar, Leonardo Marušić. József Bódis, rector of the University of Pécs (Hungary), Doctor Honoris Causa of Kalashnikov ISTU, reported about the prospects and opportunities of cooperation between universities in different countries in the framework of non-profit program of the European Union on the exchange of students and lecturers “Erasmus plus”.
