Delegation from Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín (Slovakia) visited Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University

From 7 to 10 of October the delegation from the Faculty of Social and Economic Relations of Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín (Slovakia) visited Kalashnikov ISTU.

The main purpose – consolidation of international partnership of universities, particularly, the development of educational double-degree programs and studying in foreign languages.

For three days the Vice-Dean for Research Dr. Jaroslav Holomek and Senior Lecturers Katarína Kráľová and Dagmar Petrušová were in the middle of educational process.

In the Institute of Professional Translation they attended real classes of the English language for teachers of foreign students; participated in master-class of different methods of teaching in foreign language; talked with colleagues about issues in the organization of teaching. Also they participated in the tutorial workshop with the teachers of the English Language Department.

Also the guests were welcomed at the Faculty of Economics, Law and Humanities where they met the dean Prof. Rail Galiakhmetov, discussed the organization of student mobility programs and common research projects, publication of scientific articles and development of educational double-degree programs.

Dr. Jaroslav Holomek said that during the meeting it was suggested to include the Employers Association of Slovakia into this cooperation. The faculties decided to formalize their intentions – soon they will sign the agreement of cooperation.

They also had a meeting with Dr. Alexander Elensky, the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Accreditation of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University.

According to Dr. Alexander Elensky, they have success in the double-degree program, because Alexander Dubček University is one of the first foreign universities which supported this idea. Recently, two graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Kalashnikov ISTU got double-degrees at the Faculty of Special Technology Alexander Dubček University. This is an example of positive experience which we should take into account.

Dr. Jaroslav Holomek mentioned the extensive experience of Kalashnikov ISTU in international relations:

- In future we would like to give our students an opportunity in getting double-degrees. But now this is not our primary objective. Now it's very important to prepare subjects in English, that is why we are here. Above all, we overviewed our possibilities: we need not only to organize the system of education and find students, but also to prepare teachers because we need a special training for teaching in English.
