Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU became Doctor Honoris Causa of University of Pécs

Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU became Doctor Honoris Causa of University of PécsProf. Boris Yakimovich, Rector of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of University of Pécs (Hungary).

The official ceremony of conferring the title of Doctor Honoris Causa took place in University of Pécs on November 6. The Academic Senate of University of Pécs made a decision to award Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU, taking into account great merits and significant role of Prof. Boris Yakimovich in the development of partnership between the two universities, as well as his research work.

The first agreement of cooperation in the field of education, research and academic exchange between Kalashnikov ISTU and one of the oldest European universities, University of Pécs, which will celebrate its 650th anniversary in 2017, was signed in 1998 and prolonged every 5 years ever since.

Apart from participation in the ceremony of awarding the title of Doctor Honoris Causa, Prof. Boris Yakimovich, Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU and Dr. Alexander Elensky, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Accreditation had meetings where they discussed strategic items of the latest agreement of cooperation between the two universities signed in 2014.
