The largest South Moravian University – Brno University of Technology (BUT) is the strategic partner of Kalashnikov ISTU. In particular, in the frameworks of cooperation program our students had internships in Brno, graduates do master and PhD studies, there are those who were granted bachelor and master degrees at BUT.

The aim of the meeting – to sign the cooperation agreement for the coming academic year, including the Czech language courses at our university.

Dr. Aleksandr Elensky, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Accreditation made the presentation of Kalashnikov ISTU. The Czech colleagues already visited our university a few years ago, they understand Russian and pointed out good changes in Izhevsk and our campus.

Our Czech partners made a number of proposals which will be discussed in more details, e.g. new double degree study programs of BUT, as well as the participation of Czech students in Russian Language Summer School hosted by Kalashnikov ISTU in July-August.

Miloš Šifalda, Director of JCMM said that our cooperation is very efficient, our students who proceed with their studies in Brno have good track records and also expressed confidence that our mutually beneficial collaboration in the field of education and research will continue and extend.

* In September 2009 it was agreed with South Moravian Center for International Mobility to establish Center of Czech Language and Culture at Kalashnikov ISTU which was officially opened in 2010. Every year JCMM provides scholarships for our students to study at Brno universities. This year about 30 students attended classes in Center.
