Rector of Izhevsk State Technical University at VII Forum of Universities of Engineering and Technological Profile in Minsk
On October 23 the forum of projects of the Union State – VII Forum of Universities of Engineering and Technological Profile – was opened at Belarusian National Technical University.
This year, the main concept of the forum is devoted to the implementation of the program for the formation and development of universities of the new formation «University 3.0» in Russia and Belarus.
Prof. Valery Grakhov, Rector of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University made a welcoming speech at the plenary session of the forum. In his speech the rector noted that for the two countries the formation of the higher school model «University 3.0» is an important social and economic issue. Moreover, as he emphasized, this is a global trend that cannot be ignored:
– The model of an entrepreneurial university and commercialization of knowledge is becoming one of the key factors in the competitiveness of universities in the global educational space, where the wall of their own national identity can no longer be fenced off.
Speaking about the formation of the «University 3.0» model, the rector of Kalashnikov ISTU drew attention to the prospects for the development of higher education: «…now it is necessary to think seriously about the future, which may be much closer than we think. We should also talk about the «University 4.0» model».
During his speech, the rector drew attention to the joint project of two technical universities: Izhevsk and Belarusian. The international run dedicated to our common Victory has become a real asset of the cultural and sports life of the two countries:
– «Victory run» is the project that needs to be developed. Taking into account that in 2019 we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mikhail Kalashnikov, and in 2020 the 75th anniversary of the great Victory, we propose to organize the run along the route Izhevsk-Minsk-Moscow. «Victory run» should become a big international project for all universities of the Union State.
The rector’s speech arouse lively and genuine interest among the audience and representatives of the media accredited to the forum, in particular, the rector answered questions from journalists of the main TV channel of the country «Belarus 1” and the Interstate TV and radio company «Mir”.
On the same day, a more detailed discussion of the project «Victory run» took place. The participants were: Prof. Valery Grakhov, Rector of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University, Prof. Sergey Dmitriev, Rector of Nizhniy Novgorod State Technical University named after R. E. Alekseev, Prof. Sergey Kharitonchik, Rector of Belarusian National Technical University, Prof. Husain Valiev, Rector of Kostanay State University named after A. Baitursynov (Kazakhstan), Prof. Georgy Vershina, Senior Vice-Rector of the BNTU.
