Senior Vice-Rector of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University – a member of VIII Forum of Rectors of Russian and Japanese Universities

First-Vice-1On 23rd of September VIII Forum of Rectors of Russian and Japanese Universities was opened at Lomonosov Moscow State University.

The forum gathered about 190 rectors and vice-rectors of higher education institutions from two countries. The Russian Federation was represented by 26 universities, Japan — by 30. Senior Vice-Rector Dr. Aleksandr Gubert took part in the forum on behalf of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University.

The forum was established to exchange experiences and views on common challenges facing Japanese and Russian universities, as well as to further develop the ties in educational and research fields. The program announced more than 30 speeches of heads of universities, major domestic and Japanese companies, as well as representatives of ministries and embassies. The topical agenda of scientific and educational policy of both countries was discussed, in particular, three key directions of developing relations between universities were defined:

  • First-Vice-2exchange of human resources;
  • health and medicine;
  • regional development.

In total, eight target programs were considered within the forum framework:

  1. Improving life quality 
  2. Urban development
  3. Energy development
  4. Development of small and medium business
  5. Increased productivity
  6. Development of modern technologies and technologies of the future
  7. Development of The Far East
  8. Language, culture, arts and tourism
