The first international New Year’s dancing performance in the House of People’s Friendship

The most striking and touching event of the year – the international New Year’s dancing performance – was held in the House of People’s Friendship on January 10. The guests of the festive event were representatives of national and cultural associations of the Udmurt Republic, as well as foreign students of Izhevsk universities.

Usually, in the House of People’s Friendship they speak the languages of different countries, but this New Year’s eve they were replaced by the language of dance. Tail coats, wavers, white gloves, and, of course, light floor-length dresses. For modern girls who are more accustomed to jeans, this is an occasion to settle a real woman dresses in their wardrobes.

According to all canons, the International New Year’s performance opened with a Polonaise – a solemn dance-procession. By the way, dance format of the evening was offered to the guests of the House for the first time.

Ekaterina Lebedeva, a 1st year student of the Institute of International Study Programs, Department of Linguistics of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University (ISTU):

– It’s like a fairy tale, a real one. Very nice and very magical. I repeated the dance moves after the presenters, because I don’t know half of the proposed steps. This is something new for me, it’s interesting.

Tatyana Fedorova, Deputy Director for the Main Activities of the House of People’s Friendship:

– We have been holding the International New Year every year since 2008 together with the Ministry of National Policy of the Udmurt Republic. This year we decided to change the format: to make a dancing performance for representatives of Republican and city national-cultural associations and invite foreign students to meet our people in an informal setting, to communicate, and, perhaps, to become part of them.

Ben Abdessalem Abdelrahmen and Cyrial Durel Negou Temateu – students of the Institute of International Study Programs of Kalashnikov ISTU, preparatory course:

– We like everything here. An interesting event, beautiful girls.

Alexey Ryabchikov, Director of the Institute of International Study Programs of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University:

– Everything is organized very well, considering that this is the first experience in holding a New Year’s event in the dancing format. Everything is interesting, festive, beautiful. I haven’t expected that our students will join the ranks of classical dancers. It is clear that they are interested themselves, and this is cultural experience for everyone.

The debut New Year’s dancing performance in the House of People’s Friendship took place. This means that Izhevsk has got another beautiful tradition.
