Gintautas Skripkiūnas is our guest

In the framework of Cooperation Agreement between two universities Prof. Gintautas Skripkiūnas from the Institute of Constructional Materials of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (Lithuania) paid a working visit to Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University.

On February 18 our guest made the presentation about his native country, university, potential of the department where he has been working for many years already. After that he read the lecture about the concrete frost resistance to master students of the Department of Constructional Materials, Mechanization and Geo-Engineering. It should be pointed out that our guest knows Russian well and this helped our students to understand the material and obtain new knowledge in their field.

According to Prof. Grigory Yakovlev, Head of the Department of Constructional Materials, Mechanization and Geo-Engineering, two related department care much for each other in the area of joint research works, the results of which are published in highly indexed journals.

Prof. Yakovlev continues:

— We found common language with our Lithuanian colleagues long time ago, we are interested in the same scientific topics, actively participate in scientific conferences. Postgraduate students of our university often have internships at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Prof. Skripkiūnas is here for the first time but I believe this trip will be fruitful, productive and useful for him. He has a chance to read lectures, discuss plans of our cooperation and another scientific paper, «obtain» new PhD students, and, finally, participate in the festivities dedicated to the birthday of Kalashnikov ISTU.
