Foreign students wrote «Total dictation» at Kalashnikov ISTU

On April 9 international students of Kalashnikov ISTU and Izhevsk State Agricultural Academy took part in the test «TruD-2022» in the frameworks of the All-Russian educational event «Total dictation». This is a new type of dictation developed specially for foreigners studying Russian.

Students from Egypt, Venezuela, Syria, Tunisia, Angola, Nigeria and Uzbekistan passed the test and demonstrated excellent results. The first part comprised the tasks for the knowledge of Russian as a foreign language, and the final part – the dictation itself.

The fragment of the text of «Total dictation» for the whole Russia was read by Irina Nekipelova, Head of the Department of Russian Language as Foreign. The students were nervous as it is very difficult to orally understand the Russian literal text and reproduce it in writing.

Ekaterina Sozina, the event coordinator, pointed out that the participation helped the students to prove the assumed language level and get ready for the final testing. The participants indicated that it was a remarkable experience in studying the Russian language and culture as the topic of TruD-2022 was «Feelings and emotions».

This year, Kalashnikov ISTU was the only platform in Izhevsk for foreigners – participants of «Total dictation». The event organizers – Department of Russian Language as Foreign of the Institute of International Study Programs of Kalashnikov together with the Udmurt branch of Association of International Students of Russia express their gratitude to all participants and wish them success in studying Russian!
