XV International Conference «Sustainable Green Construction and Nano-Technology»

In March the delegation of Kalashnikov ISTU took part in the annual international conference in Cairo (Egypt).

This year, it was XV International Conference «Sustainable Green Construction and Nano-Technology» organized and hosted by Egyptian-Russian University (ERU). Among the conference participants were the representatives of state construction administration of Egypt, including Deputy Minister for Construction, Transport and Housing-Communal Services Dr. Saed Ismail. During the conference, various achievements in construction, industry and research of Egypt and friendly countries were presented.

The head of Kalashnikov ISTU’s delegation Prof. G.I. Yakovlev took part in the conference as an honorable guest and co-organizer. In his welcoming address, Prof. G.I. Yakovlev thanked all the participants for fruitful international cooperation in research, expressed the hope to continue working on joint projects in different spheres, including educational one, and our researchers presented their scientific achievements. Representatives of organizers: Egyptian-Russian University (ERU) and National Research Engineering and Construction Center (HBRC) expressed their wish to go on with collaboration and highlighted their plans for joint research works and conference arrangement.

Apart from participating in the conference, the delegates of Kalashnikov ISTU visited the laboratory of construction products of CMB-group. The visit to the laboratory and a series of experiments conducted were conditioned by the continued work in the frameworks of the joint grant financed by Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russian Federation «Development of the new one-component cement-silicate based paint with increased durability and enhanced functional properties» (Agreement dated August 30, 2023). During the scheduled experiments, the optimum paint compositions, mainly based on CMB-group’s components, were tested. The General Director of CMB-group Dr. Mostafa Kamal and laboratory experts played a crucial role in finalizing and carrying out the experiments in coating and testing the compositions developed. As a result of the experiments, the optimum component compositions satisfying the required conditions were defined.  

In general, the result of the visit is positive, we see a considerable progress in research and practical collaboration with international partners.
