Professor of Kalashnikov ISTU Eduard Krylov is elected IFToMM Chairman for Education
In the period 5 – 10 October, Tokyo hosted the 16th World Congress of International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM). The Congress, held every four years, gathered over 500 participants from all over the world. They presented 353 reports in robotics and mechatronics, computational kinematics, dynamics of multimass systems, engines and power plants, power engineering systems, education in the theory of mechanisms and machines (TMM), gearings, link mechanisms and actuators of control systems, micromachines, biomechanics, tribology, dynamics of rotor systems, TMM history, reliability, transport mechanical engineering, oscillations and vibrations.
Visit of ISTU administration to China: results and future plans
On October 22-30 the delegation of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University represented by Acting Rector Aleksandr Gubert and Director of Institute of International Study Programs Alexey Ryabchikov visited People’s Republic of China. The visit of our university administration to PRC was another event in the frameworks of the major strategic program of developing partner relations of Kalashnikov ISTU with Chinese research and educational institutions.
Victory of our student at BRICS Games 2023
The fifth international BRICS Games 2023 took place in Durban (SAR) in the period October 18-21. Over 450 athletes from Brazil, Russia, India, China and SAR took part in the competitions. The Russian team was the first in the team scoring having won 59 medals, including 35 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze.
ISTU named after the most famous Russian armorer
Today, on 19 September, Russia celebrates the Armorer’s Day. And it is Mikhail Kalashnikov who is the most famous Russian armorer. As it is known, Mikhail Kalashnikov got the aptitude for weapon design after the severe wounding when he assembled the first submachine gun in the workroom at Matai railway station in Kazakhstan. And then the young natural genius created his famous AK-47 sold in 100 million copies all over the world! In 1948 it was started to be produced in Izhevsk Moto Plant and then in Izhmash, later – in Tula Weapon Factory and in many other countries of the world.
First students from China came to Kalashnikov Tech!
On September 13 the delegation from People’s Republic of China visited Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University: Jianqiang Zhuo,Head of International Office of Jinan Zhishang Education Group, Weiwei Zhang, a leading translator of Jinan Zhishang Education Group, as well as eight young men and one girl who are now the students of our university. Four of them will study the Russian language, and the rest are enrolled to the bachelor program «Advertising and Public Relations».

On July 5 Kalashnikov Tech hosted the solemn ceremony of conferring bachelor diplomas to IISP graduates.
Department of Communication Networks and Telecommunication Systems: defense of graduation projects
State Examination Commission on State Final Attestation of graduates in study area 11.03.02 «Info-communication technologies and communication systems» completed its work. This year, the bachelor’s degree was granted not only to the students of Kalashnikov ISTU but also to the students of Egyptian-Russian University (ERU) studying in double-degree programs.
Visit of delegation of Kalashnikov ISTU to Arab Republic of Egypt: results and perspectives
On June 05-08 the delegation of Kalashnikov ISTU — Acting Rector Aleksandr Gubert and Director of the Institute of International Study Programs Alexey Ryabchikov visited Arab Republic of Egypt (ARE). The aim of the visit was to prolong the cooperation agreement in the frameworks of double degree programs with Egyptian-Russian University and to develop and extend academic and research collaboration with other universities of the largest Arabic country.

According to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education 83 master programs in artificial intelligence will be launched in the coming academic year in Russia. Our university will be one of the first Russian HEIs where master students will start their studies in this area.
