New partners of Kalashnikov ISTU: from China to Uzbekistan
Delegation of Kalashnikov ISTU visited technical universities of Shanghai, Nanjing and Tashkent.
On May 14-15 the conference of Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU) took place in Shanghai. It was hosted by Tongji University, one of the oldest universities in China, which is among top 100 leading universities of the world.
According to the Statute of ASRTU, permanent directorates are formed on the basis of Association from both sides: these are Harbin Institute of Technology in China and Bauman Moscow State Technical University in Russia). Since 2013, the headquarters of ASRTU have been located in Quingdao, the under-construction “Blue Silicon Valley” of China. Today ASRTU comprises 36 leading Russian and Chinese technical universities and 4 universities –associate members.
Concert Tour of Aalen Symphonic Orchestra in Udmurtia
Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University and Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Udmurt Republic are organizing the concert tour of Aalen Symphonic Orchestra (Germany) in our Republic, dedicated to 175th anniversary of the great Russian composer Petr Tchaikovsky.
Kalashnikov ISTU received the quota to teach international students on the state-financed basis
Following the results of public contest among educational institutions of higher professional education under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Kalashnikov ISTU joined the rank of 52 HEIs granted the preferential right to enroll foreign nationals and stateless persons, including compatriots living abroad, within the quota on the education fixed by the Russian Government. Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University was given the quota of 27 students to be accepted to master programs.
Russian and Chinese universities: Perspectives of cooperation
On April 6-17, 2015 Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University hosted the delegation of the Embassy of China in Moscow – Mr. Zhao Gochen, Plenipotentiary Minister, Advisor on Education and Mr. Tan Dafeng, Third Secretary on Education.
The cooperation in research and education between Kalashnikov ISTU and Chinese partners has started quite recently, but it’s one of the priorities in international activities of our university both in Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU) and in developing partner relations with Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) and Russian-Chinese Foundation of Culture and Education.

Forum of Rectors of Russia and Japan: results for the Udmurt Republic
Prof. Boris Yakimovich, Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU, after his participation in V Forum of Rectors of Russia and Japan, commented the results of the forum for education in the Udmurt Republic.
In the beginning of March V Forum of Rectors of Russia and Japan took place in Chiba University (Tokyo). Traditionally the forum is held once in one and a half year. Universities host such events one after another. One of the initiators of this way of collaboration development is Prof. Victor Sadovnichy, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Doctor Honoris Causa of a number of Japanese universities.
Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU participated in Forum of Rectors of Russia and Japan
On 3-4 March V Forum of Rectors of Russia and Japan took place in Chiba University (Tokyo). 13 rectors of Russian and 28 of Japanese universities became the participants of the meeting. Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University was represented by the rector Prof.Boris Yakimovich.
The forum is one of the most important events in educational and cultural collaboration of two countries. This meeting took course with a slogan “Role of the universities in modern society”
Graduates of Kalashnikov ISTU are among winners of Delcam international contest
Official ceremony of awarding the winners of XV international contest of student works organized by Delcam took place in Moscow residence of Timothy Barrow, Ambassador of the Great Britain in the Russian Federation. Among winners were two master graduates of Kalashnikov ISTU. The contest was highly competitive. Over 100 works from Russia and Ukraine were represented in the finals.
The graduates of the master program “Special Technologies in Mechanical Engineering” Yulia Danilova and Nailya Galimzyanova took the 3rd and 4th places, respectively.
Kalashnikov ISTU is in the list of the best Russian universities according to ARES
Kalashnikov ISTU now is in the list of the best universities of the country according to ARES. Based on the Academic ranking of higher educational institutions (Academic Ranking of World Universities – European Standard) in the end of 2014, Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University was moved to position "BB+", and got 51st place among Russian universities. 100 Russian higher educational institutions participated in the ranking.
Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU became Doctor Honoris Causa of University of Pécs
Prof. Boris Yakimovich, Rector of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of University of Pécs (Hungary).
The official ceremony of conferring the title of Doctor Honoris Causa took place in University of Pécs on November 6. The Academic Senate of University of Pécs made a decision to award Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU, taking into account great merits and significant role of Prof. Boris Yakimovich in the development of partnership between the two universities, as well as his research work.
Kalashnikov ISTU - Chinese Higher School: new perspectives of collaboration
In the beginning of November Prof. Boris Yakimovich, Rector of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University had a meeting with Plenipotentiary Minister, Advisor for Education and First Secretary for Education in the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Russia.
Today the cooperation in education and research with Chinese partners plays an important role in the international activity of Kalashnikov ISTU. Although the Chinese universities have appeared on the list of our international partners quite recently, the partnership development is in progress. During the meeting in the Embassy, Prof. Boris Yakimovich described the experience of Kalashnikov ISTU in collaboration with HEIs from China as part of Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities, partnership with Harbin Institute of Technology, Russia-China Foundation for Education and Culture.

In October the delegation of Scholz Gruppe (Germany) visited Kalashnikov ISTU. Scholz Gruppe – the group of companies, which provides new solutions and technologies in the field of recycling and production waste treatment.
95th birthday of Mikhail Kalashnikov

Quarter-final of the World Programming Championship took place at Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University
On October 10-11 the quarter-final of the World Sport Programming Championship among student teams ACM ICPC Eastern (Ural) region was hosted by Kalashnikov ISTU.
With the success of the Ural Championship 2014 in April, Kalashnikov ISTU became the place for another big sport programming competition among student teams – the quarter-final ACM ICPC Eastern (Ural) region which includes universities of Bashkiria, Chelyabinsk, Komi Republic, Kurgan, Orenburg, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen and Udmurt Republic.

From 7 to 10 of October the delegation from the Faculty of Social and Economic Relations of Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín (Slovakia) visited Kalashnikov ISTU.
The main purpose – consolidation of international partnership of universities, particularly, the development of educational double-degree programs and studying in foreign languages.
“Convention of ASRTU in St. Petersburg”: the partnership of Chinese and Russian universities

On September 22-24 St. Petersburg hosted the Convention of the Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities (ASRTU) in the frameworks of “Year of Youth Exchange in Russia and China”.
The school in sport programming was opened at Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University
On September 29 the XIV International school in student sport programming was opened in Students’ Palace “Integral”, which is will be hosted by Kalashnikov ISTU from September 29 until October9.
Famous German scientist read lectures to future builders
Some days ago students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering attended lectures of the famous German scientist, doctor of Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (Germany) Hans Fischer.
Dr. Fischer arrived in Izhevsk following the invitation of the Head of Department of Geo-Engineering and Construction Materials Prof. Grigory Yakovlev. They have known each other for 25 years and have scientific-educational connections. PhD students of the Department of Geo-Engineering and Construction Materials of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University have internships in the University of Weimer, scientists of two universities have joint researches in the fields of construction materials, they work together on projects, publications and monographs.

On August 29, 2014 the students of the Faculty of Heat Engineering of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University graduated from Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, Wolfenbüttel (Germany).
It was the second group of students of the Faculty of Heat Engineering who completed the binational program and got two degrees - Russian and German. Timofey Kruglov and Alexey Kolesnikov shared their impressions with us.
The program of double degrees: Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University and Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín (Slovakia)
In July two more students graduated from Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University and Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín.
According to the official site of Bologna process, double degree is a certificate of a higher education, which is given by two or more universities together, based on a double study program.
A whole series of Russian universities practice cooperation with European universities in double degree programs, as a result, graduating students get double degrees in both universities.
Several universities-partners of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University participate in such programs. These are universities of Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Egypt. One of them - Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín ( http://tnuni.sk/aktuality/ ) is a young university in Slovakia (only 18 years old) and for 16 years this university has been our partner. Prof. Boris Yakimovich, Rector of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University and Prof. Ali Aliev, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences are Doctors Honoris Causa of Alexander Dubček University.
