Center of Surface Processing Technologies is open!

2013 06 20 img2611On June 18 the International Collective Research Center “Center of Surface Processing Technologies” was solemnly opened at Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University.

The International Center has been organized for theoretical and practical training of students and retraining of people from industry specializing in galvanization. The advanced environmentally friendly technologies are realized in the Center.

The Center of Surface Processing Technologies has been established on the reciprocally principles between our university, HTW Aalen, Germany, Zeh GmbH, Stuttgart, Germany and MKV GmbH, Allersberg, Germany.

Targeted at specific results

img15 1 13On June 12 the agreement for a double degree was signed between Kalashnikov ISTU and Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic.

The delegation of our strategic partner – Brno University of Technology – has been working in Izhevsk from June 11 to June 15, 2013. Research partnership

research partnership1During the visit of our delegation to Brno, Czech Republic, Rector Prof. Boris Yakimovich and director of CEITEC BUT Prof. Ing. Radimir Vrba, signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

CEITEC – Central European Institute of Technology is a joint project of the Brno University of Technology, Masaryk University and five other partner institutions in Brno. CEITEC is to build a modern high-tech scientific research center in Brno. It is responsible for two research programs: Advanced Nanotechnologies and Microtechnologies and Advanced Materials.

A new partner

The International Universities Conference

WP 20130422 002Under the inspiring motto “Boundless Education” the second annual International Universities Conference organized by EEUA took place in Bolshoi Petrovskiy Hall of the President hotel in Moscow. The event was visited by about 83 universities, i.e. 97 participants, who conducted the total of 630 pre-scheduled appointments with interested parties during the 2 days of the conference.

On the first day all participants indulged in informative sessions concerning the current issues of educational systems of Russia and CIS countries, as well as different student mobility programs. The second day of the conference was highlighted by an exceptionally informative speech devoted to World University Rankings delivered by Phil Baty, Editor of Times Higher Education Rankings, as well as a presentation on behalf of Sochi Olympics Organizing Committee.

b wto a l 2On May 22, 2013 the experts from Geneva (Switzerland) read two lectures at the Faculty of Management and Marketing of Kalashnikov ISTU: Gertrude Nimako-Boateng, Executive Director of International Trade Institute for West Africa (lecture: “The multilateral trading system: the rights and obligations of WTO member states”) and Roy Damary, Professor of Economics, President of Russian-Swiss Club, President of INSAM: the Graduate Institute of Business and Management, founder of Geopolitical Research Foundation “Geopol Services S.A.”, member of Coordination Council of the International Union of Economists (lecture: “The encouragement of innovation: macro- and microeconomics complement each other”). Our Swiss guests read the lectures in English but they speak Russian well.

The official ceremony took place in the Rectorate of Brno University of Technology on May 20, 2013. Among the guests of the ceremony was the General Consul of the Russian Federation in Brno Andrei Sharashkin.

Slovakia is getting closer

In the framework of the cooperation agreement between Kalashnikov ISTU and Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín our university hosted the group from Slovak Republic from 17 April to 11 May, 2013.

Two professors (Ján Zápotočný and Lukaš Bridík) read lectures to undergraduate and master students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Kalashnikov ISTU entitled “Application of lasers in machine part manufacturing technology” and “Increasing the barrel surface hardness from the point of improving the small arms quality”, respectively.

Students from Croatia

students from croatia logoOn May 02, 2013 two 1-year master students from our partner University of Zadar, Croatia came to our university to study. Marina Premeru and Petra Sinovcic are majoring in sociology and Russian language and are going to take courses of Russian language and speech standard, lexicography of the Russian language, history of Russia, culture studies, psychology of advertising art and public relations.

Delegation from Kazakhstan

2013 04 12 2On April 09, 2013 our university hosted the delegation from Kazakhstan headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation Galym Orazbakov in the frameworks of their visit to the Udmurt Republic.

The delegation visited the research center “Innovative techniques of material processing” and had the discussion with the university administration.

Our people in China

2013 04 12 1On March 06, 2011 Kalashnikov ISTU and 14 Russian and 15 Chinese universities signed the Declaration on the establishment of Association of Technical Universities of Russia and China (ATURC) in Shenzhen, China. The permanent directorates of ATURC are founded at Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT).

In the frameworks of ATURC the Chinese government provides scholarships for Russian students from the signatory universities. Thus, in 2012 the master degree holder in radio engineering Oleg Mikheev got the scholarship and is currently studying the Chinese language at HIT. Next academic year he will start the PhD studies.

Visit to China
