Interfax group, the largest diversified information group in the CIS and the leader of the Russian information market in B2B segment (development of professional products for media, government agencies, politicians and business with the help of modern IT solutions), published the next National ranking of universities - 2017.
Guests from Slovakia visited the Department of Mechatronic systems
On 9th of April the workshop devoted to problems in mechatronics and robotics was held at the Department of Mechatronic Systems. Pavel Božek, Professor of Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava and his colleague Elena Pivarčiová from Technical University of Zvolen (Slovakia) took part in it. The workshop participants made the presentation of using holographic interferometry methods.
Center of additive technologies at Kalashnikov ISTU
On 9th of April Prof. Valery Grakhov, Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU signed the order on establishing the Center of Additive Technologies at Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University. Andrey Balagurov, an alumnus of our university was appointed the Head of the Center.
Slovak partner universities. A new round of cooperation
Not long ago Dr. Alexander Gubert, Senior Vice-Rector of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University and Mr. Sergey Babushkin, Head of Division of International Programs & Academic Mobility visited four partner universities in Slovak Republic.

On February 27 Kalashnikov ISTU together with international IT-company EPAM Systems is organizing the major event – Code Battle for IT students.
Winter school of pedagogic skills in the English language at Kalashnikov ISTU
On January 23-27 English Department of the Faculty of Law and Humanities of Kalashnikov ISTU hosted Winter school of pedagogic skills «Professional training of future specialists in foreign languages under the conditions of integration into international educational area». The school was arranged by the teachers of English Department of Kalashnikov ISTU and representatives of Educational language center «Lingua City».
Instrumentation engineering in XXI century. Integration of science, education and production
On November 22 the traditional International Conference «Instrumentation Engineering in XXI century. Integration of Science, Education and Production» started its work at Kalashnikov ISTU. The organizers of the international forum, which is already held for the 13th time are the Faculty of Instrumentation Engineering, Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics and Department of Physics and Optical Engineering.
Meeting with international students
On November 21 the regular meeting of the university administration and representatives of a number of Izhevsk organizations with international students was held. Among the participants were: Alexander Gubert, Vice-Rector for Studies, Alexey Popovich, Vice-Rector for Security and Regime, Alexey Ryabchikov, Head of Department of International Education and Cooperation, Konstantin Dubrovin, Head of Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Udmurt Republic, Marina Prokushkina, Deputy Head of Department of Social and Domestic Work in Hostels, Alexander Shchenin, Head of Security Department, representatives of Department of International Education and Cooperation and medical insurance company.
Dialog of Russian cultures is over
«Dialog of Russian cultures – 2017» took place on November 13 in Students’ Center «Integral». Its participants were over 100 hundred students of our university.
Our international student at the Rector’s reception
On November 13 the solemn reception by Prof. Valery Grakhov, Rector of Kalashnikov ISTU with the best students was arranged. 15 students who significantly contributed to strengthening the reputation of our university with their achievements in studies, research and public activities were invited to the reception. Among them was Afias Thomas, a 2-year student of the Institute of Modern Technologies in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering and Metallurgy from Zimbabwe.

Let’s fight against flu together!
On 01 November the vaccination against flu was arranged. The first 59 international students living in hostel No 6 of Kalashnikov ISTU were vaccinated against flu. The students are well aware of the consequences of this dangerous disease and actively participated in this procedure.
Good-bye, autumn!
On 30 October hostel No 6 of Kalashnikov ISTU hosted the traditional autumn holiday. It was a real autumn ball with competitions, amusements, songs and dances. It was the positive energy boost for the students, which produced new emotions.
BNTU: VI Forum of Engineering and Technological HEIs of Common State
On October 24 the VI Forum of Engineering and Technological HEIs of Common State was opened in Belorussian National Technical University in Minsk.
International Cooperation
On 25 October Prof. Alexey Schenyatsky, the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations of Kalashnikov ISTU met with the participants of All-Russian Scientific-Practical Conference «Humanitarian Education and Science in Technical University» from Germany and Austria – Thomas Daiber, Professor of Institute of Slavic Studies, Justus Liebig University Giessen (Germany), Juergen Fuchsbauer, Associate Professor of Department of Slavonic Studies, University of Vienna (Austria) and Simon Brenner, Research Fellow of Vienna University of Technology (Austria).
Excursion to the museum: visiting Pushkin
19 October is an All-Russian Lyceist Day. In the frameworks of this event, Udmurt Republican Museum of Fine Arts announced «Lyceist Week» from 16 till 22 October and arranged a very interesting exhibition «My Pushkin» dedicated to the great classic and the most well-known lyceist.
About Doctor Sherif
On October 11, 2017 Dr. Sherif Mohammed Helmy Abdel Soliman, Doctor Honoris Causa of Kalashnikov ISTU, President of Egyptian-Russian University would have celebrated his 76th birthday. Dr. Sherif was a key figure in collaboration of Kalashnikov ISTU with Egyptian universities – first, Helwan University, then – ERU.
