Department of Theory of Economics was established in 1963.

Distinctive aspects of the Department are:

  • Fundamental training in economics of students of all programs and levels

  • High qualification level (over 80% of teachers are Doctors and Candidates of Science)

  • Qualified supervision of students’ research activity

  • Utilization of modern educational technologies

  • Teachers of Department regularly participate in arranging and holding Russian Olympiad in Economics for schoolchildren
